17th Sep - a day for cuddling baby lambs and doing the walk at Asque.

Yes well we set off mid morning for the shepherds place at Beaudean.  No worries through the village south of Bagneres and just turn right >>>>>>>> into a route baree.  Major resurfacing road works on a perfectly drivable country lane saw us admiring the Pic-du-midi for a good 30 minutes and admiring the way two drivers politely cheated to the front of the road knowing everyone will get through anyway.  So polite no one noticed.

No worries and no shepherd but lots of lovely little hamlets there and back along the river to no where.  Fun.
Plan Deux - go to Gourgue D'Asque (known as the little Amazon of the Pyrenees) which was nearby on the map - remember nearby!!

So we got onto the D84 through Gers and started heading toward Asque remembering that it was close on the map - very close.

So after climbing and climning through a Foret we came up to the Col des Palomieres at 810metres.  Interesting so some pics and continue to nearby Asque.  The road was becoming perceptibly narrower and narrower to the point where it was a one car road.  But there it was on the map.  NEARBY!!

 It was all

 Isolated Moulin encountered en-route

Asque we finally found it and the beginning of the walk was not far from here only a couple of mountains and a river away.

 priorities with perfect timber stacking

Oh this was very interesting navigation and driving up to a dead end and then reversing into someones garden around 4 dogs and then back down the road from whence we came.

Still travelling to our destination. Remember Nearby?

Finally arrived to the enchanted woods.  Found a subtle link to Canada here.
